TVYFL was established in 1990 with five league teams, and by the time the first league games started we had eight teams enthusiastically ready to compete. By 2000 we had grown to fourteen teams, and by 2010 we had expanded to twenty-five teams strong. We are growing at a strong and steady pace, and we are excited about the progress and development of this league.
The young people we coach today are the athletes and leaders of tomorrow. We believe the lessons we teach them today will have a positive and profound effect on their lives, now and for the rest of their lives.
TVYFL is about teaching children the fundamentals of football and cheerleading. We place an emphasis on sportsmanship, responsibility, and most of all, participation in a team sport.

Mission Statement
The mission and philosophy of the Trans Valley Youth Football League is to establish an environment of continuous improvement, developing the self-esteem, personal growth, pride, and well-being of all of the participants of the communities involved.
TeamworkThe League intends to promote the spirit of teamwork and friendly rivalry among all players, coaches and families of the participating communities.
CharacterIt is the League's intent to not only nurture and develop the children's athletic ability, but also to develop them as responsible and well-adjusted individuals.
Kids FirstAll League decisions and policies will be based on "what is best" for the children of the participating communities.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for youth football and cheerleading. The TVYFL has been serving youth in the Central Valley since 1990.
The goal of our League is to provide a safe and productive environment that enables children to learn and apply the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship. We facilitate the development of strength and character in every child that participates.

League Eligibility & Play Rules
Ages 6 to 14: We accept football players and cheerleaders between 6 and 14 years of age.
Age cutoff dates: Jr Novice must be 6 years old by July 15th. All other levels are dated on November 29 of the current season.
Minimum play rule: Currently set at 10 plays per child per game.
No high school participants: Our goal is to increase high school football and cheerleading participation for the local high schools served by our teams here in the Central Valley.
