TVYFL was established in 1990 with five league teams and by the time the first league games started we had eight teams enthusiastically ready to compete. By the year 2000 we had increased our teams to fourteen and by 2010 we had expanded to twenty-five teams solid! We are growing at a strong and steady pace and we are excited with the progress and development of this league. The TVYFL is about teaching the children between ages 6 to 14 the fundamentals of football and cheerleading. We place an emphasis on sportsmanship, responsibility, and most of all participation in a team sport and event. We require all teams to play each athlete on their roster minimum of 10 plays per game. Our goal is to feed the local high school's with game experienced athletes.
Mission Statement
The mission and philosophy of the Trans Valley Youth Football League is to establish an environment of continuous improvement, developing the self-esteem, personal growth, pride, and well-being of all of the participants of the communities involved.
The League intends to promote the spirit of teamwork and friendly rivalry among all players, coaches and families of the participating communities.
It is the League's intent to not only nurture and develop the children's athletic ability, but also to develop them as responsible and well-adjusted individuals.
All League decisions and policies will be based on "what is best" for the children of the participating communities.
Who We Are
We are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization for youth football and cheerleading. The TVYFL has been serving youth in the central valley since 1990.
The goal of our League is to provide a safe and productive environment that enables children to learn and apply the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship. We facilitate the development of strength and character in every child that participates.
Our rules and decisions will always maintain the top priority of this league regarding all teams- what is in the best interest of the CHILDREN, as this is the top reason we are here.
Our league has a minimum play rule currently set at 10 plays per child per game. We accept football players and cheerleaders between 6 years of age to 14 years of age (Jr Novice must be 6 years old by July 1st, all other levels dated on November 29 of the current season).
We do not accept high school age participants. Our goal is to increase high school football and cheerleading participation for the local high schools served by our teams here in the central valley.
